‘America Mourns Dr.Oz’ – What Was The Real Reason Behind His Fake Death Scam?

On June 15, 2022, the world was shocked to learn of the death of Dr. Oz. The beloved TV doctor passed away suddenly at the age of just 62. While the cause of death was not immediately clear, many speculated that it was due to a heart attack or stroke.

However, after further investigation, it was revealed that Dr. Oz had actually been the victim of a scam. Dr. Oz is alive and well, despite a death hoax that has been circulating in text messages. 

The hoax messages claim that the Republican political candidate has died and link to a Smilz CBD Gummies scam page that falsely claims that he endorsed the product. Dr. Oz has not endorsed any CBD products, and the text message is part of a larger scam to promote fraudulent products.

If you receive one of these messages, do not click on the link, and do not provide any personal information. Report the message to your carrier or block the sender if possible. Spread the word to help stop this scam.

The hoax was eventually exposed, but not before causing a great deal of confusion and distress for Dr. Oz’s family and fans. Thankfully, the doctor is alive and he continues to share his valuable insights with the world.

Dr.Oz is a Turkish-American cardiothoracic surgeon and television personality. He first gained popularity for his appearances on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” as a heart health expert. He then went on to host his own show, “The Dr. Oz Show,” for five seasons. 

In addition to his work as a surgeon and TV host, Dr. Oz has also authored several books on health and wellness. He currently serves as the vice-chairman of the Department of Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and is a professor of surgery at Columbia University Medical Center. 

Dr. Oz is dedicated to helping people improve their overall health and well-being, and he continues to use his platform to bring attention to important health topics.

Mehmet Oz is an American TV personality, cardiothoracic surgeon, Columbia University professor, author, and pseudoscience promoter. He came to prominence with appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show beginning in 2004.

In 2009, Winfrey offered to produce a syndicated series hosted by him through her company, Harpo Productions. 

The Dr. Oz Show debuted on September 14, 2009, distributed by Sony Pictures Television. Oz has been criticized by physicians, government officials, and publications for the frequent use of dubious medical advice on his show.

Time magazine placed him on their “Time 100” list in 2008 and Esquire magazine ranked him 18th on their “75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century” list in 2009.

New York Magazine’s Intelligencer column called Oz “America’s charlatan” in a March 2014 article.

A study published in the British Medical Journal in December 2014 found that only 46% of the medical advice given on The Dr. Oz Show was supported by evidence.

The real reason behind his fake death scam 

The “Dr. Oz is dead” deception served as deceptive bait to draw consumers to the bogus product endorsement, which is why it was connected to the shady Smilz CBD Gummies web page.

Gupta answered the untrue assertion that he had promoted a CBD oil or CBD gummies product in 2018, most likely for a different product than Smilz CBD Gummies. He tweeted, “No, I haven’t started a line of CBD goods.”

USA Today also stated in January of this year that the allegation that Gupta supported CBD gummies was untrue.

In addition, PolitiFact reported that a death hoax about Gupta, similar to the one involving Oz, had circulated to persuade users to click the link in advertisements.

Facebook users also talked about getting the texts that directed them to the landing page for the Smilz CBD Gummies. Someone remarked, “I keep receiving IMs stating that Dr. Oz has passed away. He just became a Republican politician; he is not dead.”

Oz is still alive. He just recently declared his Republican run for the Pennsylvania state Senate.
