Sunday, May 9 was a historic night for the NBC show American Ninja Warrior.
The show held its first-ever Women’s Special Championship and twelve women competed against each other in the power-packed episode.
However, despite, the best efforts from all the contestants it was Meagan Martin who emerged victoriously. Not only did she take home the giant trophy but also a $50,000 winning prize.

Who is Meagan Martin from ANW?
According to her Instagram bio, Meagan is a model and a professional climber.
She is 30 years old now and has been an ANW alum for some time. She is currently also a mentor for the ANW Junior’s game show.
Aside from her long association with the show, Meagan is also a successful commentator. She currently also works as a commentator for USA Climbing on ESPN.
Meagan’s personal website meaganmartinclimbing.com reveals that as a kid the ANW Women’s championship winner loved climbing trees.

Often times she would choose to climb up in a tree with her book, to read.
Meagan started pursuing her passion more seriously at a gym in Orlando named Aiguille Rock Climbing Center. She joined the climbing team at the gym which had 8 other kids.
At age 5 she was already competing in gymnastics.
Meagan says on her website, “I love the exhilarating feeling that competitions give you. There are so many things going on, not only around you but also in your head.”
After trying her hands at different things theANW Women’s winner realized that she wanted to pursue climbing competitively.
It was in 2014 that Meagan first competed on the hit show American Ninja Warrior. The model/climber instantly found success!
The same year she also made history by becoming the third woman on the show to make it up the warped wall. Her fruitful years on the show also landed her the gig as a mentor in the show’s spin-off for children ANW Junior.

For those who are wondering about ANW Women’s championship winner Meagan’s ethnicity, her father Gerald Martin is African American while her mother Beth Martin White American. She also has two sisters, Moriah Martin and Mikaela Martin.
Athleticism runs in the Martin family. Meagan’s father Gerald was a gymnast at Ohio State University. He also qualified twice for the United States Olympic Trials competition.
After watching Meagan’s impressive performance on the show many fans also wondered about her height. Her website reveals that Meagan is 5 foot 4 inches tall.
