Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal reached a deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time after a DUI accident on June 16.

The Associated Press, via Fox Sports, reported Vidal apologized for insulting a police officer, agreed to undisclosed compensation for the other driver involved in the crash and will donate sports equipment.

Vidal was also banned from driving for two years and ordered to give motivational speeches as part of the agreement.

The Juventus star was facing a charge of threatening a policeman, via a June 25 report from AFP (h/t Yahoo).

"You can handcuff me but you're f--king up the whole of Chile," Vidal is alleged to have said to his arresting officer, according to Guardian writer Euclides Montes (h/t football editor of the Guardian Marcus Christenson) on June 17.

The midfielder issued an apology for the arrest on June 17, per Football Italia:

I was at the casino, I had two drinks and then put at risk the lives of my wife and others. I apologise to my teammates, the staff, the people and to all of Chile. The accident was my fault. It was all my fault. I let everyone down. I will give my all to win the Copa America.

ESPN FC passed along a tweet highlighting the damage to Vidal's vehicle:
