Personal Statement

Hi,

I'm Bailey Blake, Class of 2018.  I'm not accustomed to describing myself, but I'll try to give you a little insight about me.  I feel that I am grounded and have a foundation built upon my faith and my  the values taught me by my family.  As a young kid, I attended a Carolina Heat Martial Arts Academy, where I learned the five tenets of taekwondo--Courtesy, Integrity, Self-control, Perseverance, and Indomitable Spirit.  Today,  all of these parts of my foundation guide my growth as a person, student and athlete.

I have a belief that I can do anything that I work diligently to accomplish.  On the soccer field, I realized that I am not the fast sleek "out of the box thinker" as some players, but I am the "face the opponent head on." I play hard and work towards the best game plan for the team.  When the final whistle sounds, I leave the field knowing I did my best for the Team.

Soccer is a team sport and I am a team leader.  At practice, I will complete my drills and  then go to the remaining teammates, encouraging them through to the end.  We start as a team and finish as a team.  On and off the field,  team is first.  Attitudes and actions are what others see.   I want others to remember they saw winners no matter the outcome of the score.
