According to an article in JET Magazine, Nov 1972 -"Actress found unconscious by Jim Brown; is resting." The article states that Jim and Brenda got in a fight over the phone, and she threatened to kill herself. He didn't take her seriously but when he didn't hear from her the next day, he went to her apartment and let himself in (he had a key) and found her unconscious from an overdose of barbituates. Luckily he called the paramedics and was able to save her life. "The petite actress was Brown's constant companion off the set when filming the still unreleased "Black Gunn." It was Brown, a former Cleveland Browns football great, who encouraged her to attempt a movie career while she was an entrant in a 1967 beauty pageant sponsored by his Black Economic Union."
