Personal Statement

I have been swimming ever since I was a child, and I have always loved improving with each season. I challenge myself to get better in every practice, and I love my coaches and treat them with respect. Every year I have swam I have always shown improvement, except my 2015 high school year when I broke my wrist in the middle of the season. I was out the majority of the season and returned for Championships but had to swim with a brace on my wrist. Even with little training, and with a wrist guard, I was able to swim my prior year's times plus show a little improvement.  Annually, I have competed in the high school Section meet and had great success in my freshman year winning a medal in backstroke.

Academically, I take great pride in my high GPA, and wish to improve it by taking AP and honors classes. By the end of my High School career I hope to raise my GPA up to a 4.0 or higher, a goal I can achieve with hard work and focus.

The ability to maintain a strong GPA and continuously improve in swim is challenging, but I am proud to say that I have done it with great success. I have always worked, studied, and done well in my academic environment, with significant improvements from my freshman year in high school.

What I look for in a college is a college that allows me to do what I love at a competitive level. I also want to attend a college that values education as much as I do, and will prepare me to do well in life. Wherever I decide to go, I hope that I can continue to grow, have fun, and be prepared for the rest of my life.
