In 1999, Brock Pierce joined Digital Entertainment Network (DEN), a company aimed at creating original series for streaming over the internet. As a minority owner and executive vice-president, Pierce earned a $250,000 salary. However, DEN faced controversy and bankruptcy after one of its co-founders, Marc Collins-Rector, was indicted on charges of child endangerment related to allegations of assaulting underage boys.
