She sold her first children’s story at the age of 19 and later wrote a humor column for the “New York Observer” called “Sex and the City.” The column was turned into an anthology and inspired the HBO TV series of the same name. Bushnell has written several novels including “4 Blondes,” “Lipstick Jungle,” and “One Fifth Avenue.” “Lipstick Jungle” was adapted into a TV show starring Brooke Shields. She also judged the reality show “Wickedly Perfect” and hosted her own talk show on Sirius Satellite Radio called “Sex, Success and Sensibility.” Her eighth book, “Killing Monica,” was released in 2015, and in 2019 she released “Is There Still Sex in the City?” Bushnell was married to New York City Ballet dancer Charles Askegard, but they are now divorced.
