Avon worked in many fields including investment banking, media analysis, and law, among others. He also served as an acting general counsel for the United States military at Pentagon. According to Nashville Scene, he was the equivalent of a three-star general.
According to his colleague who wrote an article remembering him on Nashville Scene, Avon was a man of humor who got in trouble for being too humorous on live radio during the 1990s about Bill Clinton.
However, he was a remarkable man, Andrew D. Martin remembers, as he possessed a strong political fiber of his father Avon Jr. and a poetic sense from his mother's side.
Sadly, Avon Williams III passed away on July 9, 2005, due to a severe asthma attack while visiting a tourist attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. He was just 45 years old at the time of his passing away, according to Washington Post.
Caroline shared an image of a handwritten note saying she missed him every day with an emotional caption on fathers day in 2018, on her Instagram account.
