In fact, her ex-husband Roy upon hearing this story decided to take revenge. Therefore, she planned to kill the young man with his stepbrother. Emmet was sleeping at her relative’s house at 2:30 am on August 28 when Roy abducted him. Neither was convicted of a crime or served jail time.
On January 26, 2017, it was revealed that Carolyn Donham had admitted that what she said was not true at her trial. Furthermore, he also confirmed that he had made up most of the story. The 82-year-old woman made the confession in the book ” The Blood of Emmett Till ” by author Timothy Tyson in 2007.
