Charlbi Dean’s death brought trauma to her fans and friends after they learned about her unexpected death on August 29, 2022.
She died too early, at the age of 32.
Charlbi Dean Kriek was known as a South African actress and model, and she earned her love throughout her career and made a successful career for herself.
She gained much popularity when she portrayed the character of Syonide in The CW’s “Black Lightning” and the elementary TV series “Triangle of sadness.”
Recently, Charlbi’s cause of death was revealed by New York Medical.
A spokesman said to People Magazine on Wednesday, “South-African model died from an ‘unexpected sudden illness,’ such as bacterial sepsis.”
Her brother revealed Charlbi’s death news on August 29. He shared this tragic news with a heavy heart with her friend.
Her brother said, “Charlbi died a day after. Her sudden death in New York City on Monday happened after she began experiencing “minor” symptoms and soon asked her fiancé, Luke Volker, to take her to an emergency room. She died just hours later.”
Furthermore, he said, “This happened within a day: getting a headache, going to sleep, waking up her boyfriend, and saying, please take me to the hospital,” We still aren’t entirely sure what happened with her. There’s an autopsy being done which we know might take quite a while. But we have heard [that] there was a viral infection in her lungs.”
Later, he revealed that his late sister Charlbi had been critically injured in a car incident in 2019.
Later, doctors removed her spleen. As per her brother’s statement. Charlbi Dean also suffers from her broken back in the accident.
In the end, Jacobs said,“Her spleen not being there just added on to the reason why she perhaps couldn’t fight it off,” but she lost this fight, and it became her cause of death.
Charlbi Dean’s fiance also shows his grief about her death through his official Instagram.
At the same time, he posted a video and gave appreciation to Charlbi’s fans for the message he received after Charlbi’s death news was revealed.
He also wrote, “Hi, everyone wanted to just post a picture of Charlbi, but it’s a bit hard.”
What is Sepsis?
Sepsis is released due to an infection you already have triggered a severe reaction throughout your body.
That infection that leads to sepsis probably starts from the lung, urinary tract, skin, or gastrointestinal tract.
When someone does not treat their sepsis on time, it leads to tissue damage, organ failure, and death.
Some Sepsis is released into the human body due to exposure to the bacteria known as Capnocytophaga.
Many Capnocytophaga germs are normal bacteria commonly found in the mouths of people, dogs, and cats.
These germs sometimes cause opportunistic infections, which means under the right conditions, they can cause an infection, such as in a person with a weakened immune system.
Some people, especially the elderly, may not show typical signs of infection.
Instead, they may show a sudden change in mental status, become confused, or a worsening of dementia and confusion.
The illness came from the absence of a spleen. Which is described as a “complication from asplenia”.
In 2009, Charlbi Dean was injured in a car accident; due to her accident, her spleen was removed.

Gutted we won't get to see more of Charlbi Dean Kriek on the screen. Her performance as Yaya in TRIANGLE OF SADNESS was star-making. The restaurant scene w/Harris Dickinson at the film's beginning is a true testament to her one-of-a-kind, singular talent. May she rest in peace.
