Christina Milian is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Christina Milian’s family recognized that she could be a star. They did everything they could to help her reach her full potential when they found out Milian had a talent for singing and acting. 

They moved to Los Angeles to give her more opportunities. She started as a singer by releasing her self-titled debut album on the Def Jam label.

She was born Christina Flores on September 26, 1981,[1] making her the American actress and singer Christina Milian. 

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was raised in Maryland and signed with Murder Inc. Records at 19. 

Milian’s 2001 self-titled debut album released “AM to PM” and “When You Look at Me”; the former debuted in the Top 40 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, while both hit the top three of the UK Singles Chart. 

She sang “Call Me, Beep Me!” as the theme song in 2003 on Disney Channel’s Kim Possible. Milian’s first significant U.S. success, “Dip It Low” (with Fabolous), was featured on her 2004 album It’s About Time, which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200. 

The album’s second single, “Whatever U Want” (which features Joe Budden), was released. Both singles peaked in the Top 10 in the UK.

So Amazin’ was Milian’s third studio album, released in 2006. One song, “Say I” (with Jeezy), was removed from the album and reached the Top 30 on the US Billboard list. 

Just one month after the release of So Amazin’, Milian’s rep stated that the singer had parted ways with Island Records over artistic differences. 

In 2009, Milian inked a recording contract with Interscope. In October 2008, they dropped the song “Us Against the World” as a single.

Milian’s first career choice was acting. Her breakout performance came in Love Don’t Cost a Thing (2003), and she went on to star in Be Cool (2004) and the horror picture Pulse (2006). 

Milian played a small part in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and was the main character in Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, released directly to DVD. 

Also in 2010, Milian starred in the ABC Family Original Movie Christmas Cupid alongside Ashley Benson and Chad Michael Murray.

She was a main character on the sitcom Grandfathered for two years, 2015–2016. She is an entrepreneur in the Los Angeles area, co-founding and co-owning Beignet Box.

At nine, Milian starred as Annie in a musical production and appeared in Wendy’s and Honeycomb commercials.

Jerkins was working with a boy band when he first heard of Milian, and after hearing her sing, he decided to hire her. 

Milian met her first contacts in the music industry during her year and a half of daily studio time with Jerkins.

When Milian was 17, she started writing songs to get a recording contract, but he refused to provide her with a demo whenever she worked with a producer. Forced her to sing lyrics with which she disagreed. 

She decided to go alone and compose a song, record a demo, and submit it.

Milian made her professional musical debut on Ja Rule’s second studio album, Rule 3:36 (2000), singing “Between Me and You”.

The album’s lead track peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and in the top 30 of the UK Singles Chart in 2000.

Milian co-wrote and sang “Play” for Jennifer Lopez’s 2001 album J. Lo and “Same Ol’ Same Ol'” for girl group PYT’s 2001 debut album PYT (Down with Me).

Milian signed with Def Soul Records after working with Ja Rule on Murder Inc. Records, a division of Def Jam. 

In Sweden, she recorded her self-titled debut album. On October 9, 2001, the album peaked at 23 in the UK and sold 101,986 copies. 

The album reached 36 in the Netherlands and 98 in Sweden internationally. The September 11 attacks, two weeks before the album’s domestic release, delayed its distribution. 

Milian noted that new artists rarely release albums in the fourth quarter. Therefore, her company released it later that year. 

After another delay until the first quarter of 2002, Milian decided not to release the album .”AM to PM” and “When You Look at Me” were global hits from the album. The Paris-filmed music video for “Get Away” was not released as a single.

Her reality show Christina Milian Turned Up premiered on January 18, 2015. The series follows Christina, her mother Carmen, and her sisters Danielle and Liz Flores’ daily lives. A second season began in November 2015 after being renewed in April.

In March, she released “Rebel” and “We Ain’t Worried,” the latter of which promoted her “We Are Pop Culture” clothing line.

The 5-track EP and video set were revealed in July, and Mike Ho was directing. She performed the National Anthem at the 2015 Americafest and released “Like Me” with Snoop Dogg that month.

She renamed the EP Like Me after releasing “Do It” with Lil’ Wayne a few months later. On December 4, 2015, she released her EP “4U”, with four songs and music videos.

On August 12, 2016, she released “We Own the Night” featuring So Solid Crew’s MC Harvey. Fox’s Superhuman included her as a judge/panellist in June 2017.

Milian began dating Nick Cannon in 2003 after meeting him in the Love Don’t Cost a Thing production. 

After two and a half years, Milian left her relationship with Cannon in 2005 due to his infidelity. Cannon stated that Milian’s relationship was too similar to a “Christian romance,” so he would not continue it. 

Milian stated, “Regardless of how I felt in the past at the time, I forgive him, and I’m very over that” when Cannon married Mariah Carey on April 30, 2008.

February of 2009 started the rumours that Milian was seeing The Dream. In June 2009, Mila and The Dream’s engagement celebration occurred in Las Vegas.
