About Christine’s first marriage with John McVie

John Graham McVie is well-known as a British guitarist and earned popularity while performing with Fleetwood Mac beginning in 1967 and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers from 1964 to 1967.

The band’s name was created from his surname and Mick Fleetwood’s.

The romance between Christine and John McVie, started before they joined together to become one of the greatest rock bands in history.

In 1967, Mick Fleetwood, the drummer, and guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer scouted John for the band. At the time, they were dating.

John and Christine married in 1968, and the keyboardist would join the group two years later.

But they did not manage their marriage for an extended period and divorced after a few years.

Following the former couple’s separation, Christine Mcvie made her remarks public.

Christine says, “I broke up with John in the middle of a tour.” I was aware that it was pretty reckless, and I had to do it to keep my sanity, and that or being committed to a mental institution was my only option.”
