He gained widespread recognition for his role on “Mod Squad” from 1968 to 1973 and went on to appear in numerous television shows and movies, including “Hill Street Blues,” “Purple Rain,” “Twin Peaks,” and “Justified.” He also had a recurring role in the Hallmark Channel movie series “Mystery Woman” from 2003 to 2007.
