Orelon Sidney

Orelon Sidney is a weather anchor for the CNN News Group. Her weather reports can be seen on CNN/U.S., CNN International, CNN Headline News, CNNfn and CNN Airport Network on weekends.

Before joining CNN, Sidney worked for KPRC-TV in Houston as a weather anchor for the morning and noon news programs. Soon after joining KPRC-TV in September 1994, she reported on the devastating October floods. Sidney started her broadcast career in 1989 as a weather anchor at KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas. There, she delivered weekly environmental reports and daily weathercasts, including live field coverage of floods and tornadoes. In 1989, United Press International honored her work as the Best Cold Weather Broadcast.

She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.

Sidney earned a bachelor's degree in geography from Texas A&M University and is currently completing the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University.
