Corey Isiah Jones was born June 16, 1991, in Norfolk, Virginia to Crystal Franks-Jones and Floyd Terry Jones…a day that will be cherished forever.

For the first four years of Corey’s life, he lived in Barraud Park. Corey was always bigger than the kids his age and better looking too…lol. Thereafter, his family moved to Virginia Beach where he attended Betty F. Williams Elementary School, a school where he first became famous. Corey wasn’t a bad kid he just didn’t do a whole lot of playing.  He later went to Bayside Middle where he became more famous. Later he attended Granby High School where he began his football career but it was delayed because of an injury.  Even at Granby, he was well known and respected.  Corey was a wonderful person and he loved educating people…he was some kind of counselor who everyone loved. Corey, in the midst of his high school years became a loving father to a beautiful and brilliant daughter, London, whom he absolutely cherished.

Corey was also a music lover and he started his short music career in his bedroom. Corey was an avid reader and he enjoyed learning and spreading his new found wisdom with whoever wanted to listen. For several years Corey was employed by Cox Communications as a Cable Installer.

Sadly and unexpectedly, Corey departed earth for his heavenly home on Thursday, July 12, 2018.  His smiling face will forever be etched in the hearts of those who survived him, his parents: Crystal and Floyd; his beloved sister: Chazity Jade Jones; two very special brothers: Myles Woodhouse and Walter Jones; his maternal grandmother, Claudia Franks; one Great-Aunt, Anita Thompson; Uncles: Alfonso Jones (Zorey), Jeremiah Jones, Ronald Jones, Marvin Franks (Dorothy) and Julius Franks; Aunts: Valerie Franks and Shelley Franks-Harmon (Joe); a girlfriend: Ashley Harry;  the mother of his daughter, Shantel Smith; his best friends: Shenisha Grant, Taylor Darby, Andrew Johnson, Yale Pinnix, Keon Bryant, Jabari Arthur, Alfred Ward, Ridge Willard and Maxwell Jones; as well as a host of cousins and other extended family members and friends.  Corey was predeceased by his paternal grandparents: Helen and Walter Jones; and his maternal grandfather, Willis Ulysses Franks.
