Damieon George commits to Florida

Damieon George, a former top-400 recruit who spent three seasons at Alabama and made three starts at tackle in 2021, committed to Florida today.

He'll have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

How Braedyn Locke became Wisconsin's third transfer portal QB add

Braedyn Locke’s conversation with new Wisconsin offensive coordinator Phil Longo in the team’s quarterbacks room was supposed to end at 3:30 p.m. last Saturday afternoon. Enough time for Locke and his parents to return to the hotel during Locke’s recruiting visit and prepare for a 5:45 p.m. bus ride over to dinner.

Locke and Longo were so absorbed in analyzing the schematics of the Air Raid offense Longo intends to run — and how Locke seamlessly blended into the system — that they didn’t break until 4:45 p.m., barely allowing time to catch the bus.

But that session paled in comparison to the impromptu discussion the pair engaged in after dinner, when Locke and his family arrived with Longo back at the hotel by 8 p.m. There Locke and Longo sat in the lobby, the Jacksonville Jaguars-Tennessee Titans game on in the background, drawing up plays on napkins together until about 11.

Baylor running back Craig Williams enters the portal

Baylor running back Craig “Sqwirl” Williams has entered the portal as a grad transfer, The Athletic has learned.

Williams is coming off his best season yet with 829 all-purpose yards and five TDs.

Busy stretch for champion Bulldogs

Georgia has now had five players enter the portal since Tuesday morning. Cornerback Jaheim Singletary is the biggest name, a five-star recruit in the 2022 class, but that's at a crowded position for the team.

Outside linebacker MJ Sherman was a top-50 recruit in the 2020 class but struggled to get on the field. Inside linebacker Trezmen Marshall was a special teams standout who got some playing time this year but was behind younger players on the depth chart.

Tight ends Ryland Goede and Brett Seither were veterans who were recruited over.
