It was recently stated (erroneously) that I met Jean at an “Open Mic Night”. That’s not true. Jean was a life-long professional musician who worked in bands as well as solo, almost from the same age that I did. She actually wrote a song called "Power" that was recorded by the Temptations in 1980. When I met her she was playing guitar and singing at a cafe in Santa Fe. I started going in on a regular basis, we got to know each other, and eventually began dating.
