Dubois has class and power to grind down Miller

The London-born Dubois is back in the ring after suffering the second defeat of his career against Oleksandr Usyk, but he came out of that bout with plenty of credit and will be trying to work his way towards another world title shot.

First up for Dubois is a potentially tough meeting with the unbeaten Miller as two big hitters collide on the Day of Reckoning card in Riyadh tonight.

Dubois was outclassed for the vast majority of his meeting with Usyk but did land a body shot that sent the Ukrainian to the canvas in the fifth round. Ultimately that was judged to be a low blow but a contentious one, and if Dubois can get in a strike like that on one of the most elusive fighters in boxing – not just the heavyweight division – he should be able to cause some damage to Miller, a much easier target to hit.

Dubois only really knows one way to win, as 18 of his 19 victories have come inside the distance. Miller has never been stopped or even beaten, but he has not faced anyone with the kind of power that Dynamite possesses and he has not been in the ring with any opponent of this level for some time after a four-year hiatus between 2018 and 2022.

There is an element of the unknown here as it remains to be seen how good the 35-year-old Miller actually is – the man known as Big Baby is yet to be tested at the highest level. However, Dubois has faced a better standard of opposition than Miller has by some distance and on that basis he has to be considered the more likely winner here. If he does record a 20th career win, there is a good chance it will come via a stoppage.

Tip: Daniel Dubois to win by KO, TKO or disqualification @ 6/4 with talkSPORT BET

An early finish should be expected

This fight is odds-on not to go the distance, and there is some value to be found in the over/under total rounds market in this 10-round contest.

Dubois has 18 wins inside the distance in 19 fights and his one win on points came against the experienced Kevin Johnson. The Briton has also lost twice and both of those defeats were stoppages, meaning only one of Dubois’ 21 fights in total has required the full scheduled rounds.

Miller has 26 wins on his record and 22 of those have been by KO, TKO or forcing his opponent to retire. Clearly both of these men carry some serious power and it looks unlikely all 10 rounds will be needed here.

Dubois in particular likes to get to work early on, with 15 of his 18 stoppage wins coming in the first five rounds. Miller has managed 18 victories in the first five rounds, so taking the 11/8 on offer for under 6.5 rounds in total looks a strong play for anyone who does not want to pick a winner in this bout.

As the fight approaches, it may be possible to combine these tips and back Dubois to win in rounds 1-6 – but at the time of writing, those odds are not available.
