Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Drake Long. I am a rising senior in the class of 2022 at Carmichaels Area High School in Southwestern, PA. I have been playing baseball since I was 4 years old. Being a multi-sport athlete from an early age playing baseball, basketball, and football, I have always been very competitive. Baseball was my first passion and still is to this day. Playing sports, my competitive nature has become a part of my identity and a trait that I hold dear to me. Due to this nature, I aspire to compete collegiately at the NCAA Division I and II level or NJCAA Division I and II level. My primary position is a shortstop while my second positions are RHP, 2nd base, and 3rd base. I have been a starting infielder for the entirety of my high school career and have been on successful teams (WPIAL Quarter Finals as a Freshmen & PIAA 1st Round as a Junior). 

Academically I have strived to be successful as well, holding a cumulative GPA of 3.72 since entering high school. Though my desire to play college baseball is immense my priority is to attend an institution that fulfills my academic interests and needs. My intent is to attend a college or university that offers majors in Sports Management and Business.
