Personal Statement

Winning the JV Union County championship has made me feel proud of myself for returning to play softball. Moreover, I have learned the value of commitment and teamwork. During the semifinal and championship games, I fully understood the phrase: “hard work pays off.” In the start of the season, I would not imagine that I would have the chance to pitch these two games. At the beginning of freshman year, I tore my left ACL and had an ACL replacement surgery. After one year of rehabilitation, I have been reinforcing and improving my softball skills by learning new pitching movements through persistent effort. I have incorporated these skills into games and have grown to be more responsible and resilient.

I believe that not only I can do well academically but also I have the ability, attitude, and integrity to play on the college-team successfully. When I go to college, I hope to take challenging courses, join at least two clubs, and have an organized schedule that balances my study, softball, and college life. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me academically as well as athletically. In return, I can also make significant contributions to the program and college.
