The lyrical motive of “Favorite Song” is reminiscent of Toni Braxton’s “Spanish Guitar”, in that the vocalist takes on the role of a song itself. And he does so for the specific purpose of encouraging the addressee, his romantic interest, to “play (him) all night long”, as if he is her “favorite song”.

And of course such an instruction would be a metaphor, pointing to his desire for her to, most simply interpreted, make love to him throughout the night. But considering that the vocalist is wording his desire so, it can be further put forth the his wants this evening to be really special, unlike the average lovemaking, even if they are already an established couple, as implied in the second verse.
