Fuzzy Zoeller turned professional in 1973 after winning the Indiana State Amateur. He won his first professional tournament in 1979 at the Andy Williams-San Diego Open Invitational.
In 1980, Zoeller won the Masters Tournament in his first appearance, becoming the first golfer since 1935 to do so. He won in the first-ever sudden-death playoff at the Masters, which involved Ed Sneed and Tom Watson.
Zoeller’s other notable wins include the Colonial National Invitation in 1981, Sea Pines Heritage and Panasonic Las Vegas Pro Celebrity Classic in 1983, and the Hertz Bay Hill Classic in 1985.

Fuzzy Zoeller married Diane Thornton in 1975 and they had four children together named Sunny, Miles, Heidi, and Gretchen. Sadly, Thornton passed away in late 2021 after battling dementia. Zoeller currently resides in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
