Personal Statement
I became interested in playing lacrosse when my football coach who also coached lacrosse, recruited me to play when I was in fifth grade. I loved the game and have been playing since. I played football for the last nine years, and this year I have decided to dedicate all of my time to lacrosse. Lacrosse has taught me to be confident yet humble. I have learned that I work well in a team environment; I enjoy helping others, and encouraging everyone to play as a team to accomplish our goals together. I enjoy creating plays while adjusting to defensive schemes. I have learned what hard work, teamwork, and commitment are from playing sports.
My academic goal in high school is to bring up my GPA and maintain it so I can go to a good college. My goal in college is to maintain a good GPA, play lacrosse, and build the skills I need for a career. I have overcome obstacles when I moved from Colorado to Florida in tenth grade. I went to a new school, had new coaches, and I had to prove myself all over again to my new coaches. My first and second season I won the most coveted all around best player award, I was selected to play on the first team in the regional all-star game, and I have been selected to be a team captain this season. I am a committed athlete with leadership skills, a great attitude, and I think I have the talent and skills to compete and make a difference on a college team.
