It wasn't spectacular for Liverpool tonight but one point is better than none and, with the way they played, it quite easily could have been none.

That said, Jurgen Klopp wasn't too disheartened with the performance.

“I know people will say we have to play the best football ever but the reaction must always include attitude," said the Liverpool manager. "I saw a lot of great challenges, I saw people flying in, blocking balls and that’s what you need.

"The three in midfield haven’t played together very often but I liked the link-up, it was OK.

“We have to build on it. People expect miracles but we’re back on track. We want to play our best football but, when things don’t go your way, you have to fight through it and make positive steps, sometimes small ones and sometimes it can be big ones.

"Tonight, it was small ones and now we have time to prepare for a tough next game against flying Arsenal.”
