Erin Mae Kellyman is an actress from Birmingham, England. She is well-known for her character in Solo: A Star Wars Story as Enfys Nest, which she played in 2018.

As we know, she has already been slowly establishing her name in Hollywood before her part as the warrior Enfys Nest in last year’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, which rocketed her to international fame.

She has also appeared in Victor Hugo’s novel Les Miserables in 2019 as Eponine Thenardier. It was BBC’s adaptation of the famous novel and her performance was brilliant.

Life of A Rising Star

Erin Kellyman was born on October 17, 1998 in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England. Kellyman was a student in Birmingham Ormiston Academy before she enrolled into The Rawlett School.

She lives with her mother, Louise Kellyman and a sister, Amelia Kellyman. Her father is Jamaican. Erin is immensely proud of both backgrounds that have contributed to her being the lady she is now.

Kellyman always had a desire to pursue a career in acting since she was a child. She loved to act and mimic characters on TV.

And whilst she was in school, she went to Nottingham’s Television Workshop and graduated from there. The workshop had a few renowned people who were alumni such as Vicky McClure,  Samantha Morton and Jack O’Connell.

Career

At first, Kellyman joined the cast of Cathy in Channel 4’s adaptation of Caitlin Moran’s autobiographical novel, Raised By Wolves following her first audition.

Being a newbie in the industry, it is quite amazing that Erin Kellyman had no fear of the camera, though she was very confident while giving an audition.

She notably starred with Tanya Franks and Kerry Godliman in the 2016 BBC sitcom The Coopers Vs The Rest. This was about a suburban couple raising three adoptive children.

Later on, when Kellyman was chosen as the marauder Enfys Nest in Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018, she was the film’s most significant new character. She was said to have gained worldwide recognition as a result of her performance.

At first, Kellyman was shocked to find she’d gotten the job after feeling she’d blown her initial audition and she was unsure that she would ever receive a call.

For the part, she auditioned three times. She felt she had utterly botched up that one, so when she received a call, it was literally astounding for her.

Kellyman only checked alongside the film’s primary actor, Alden Ehrenreich, at the third audition, performing both acting and stunt work.

Kellyman later starred as Éponine in the BBC’s Les Misérables adaption, opposite Olivia Colman, Lily Collins, David Oyelowo, as well as Dominic West. 

Erin was offered the role of Cosette and auditioned for that, but then was called back for the role of Éponine. 

However, Kellyman commended the BBC production’s diversity, confessing she never imagined she’d be allowed to portray such a character in a historical drama.

Meanwhile, not only Erin focused on bigger roles, but she also got some minor roles on television channels, such as Don’t Forget the Driver and Life.

Her biggest achievement was when she got the role of Karli Morgenthau in the MCU’s Disney+ action series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It premiered in 2021 where she is playing a character of the leader of a radical group.

Erin Kellyman has been working rey hard to achieve what she had always dreamt of. She wants to become a star like Julie Walters and is currently seeking for her next work and is clear about the types of projects she is interested in.

Erin Kellyman has been very vocal when it comes to asking for human rights whether it’s trans rights, black people rights, or any marginalized community rights, etc.

In the past, she had posted a few photos of her attending a protest for Black Lives Matter on her official Instagram account, which has 157k followers.

Not only that, but she also attended the LGBTQIA+ pride parade in 2021, where she was waving the rainbow flag with her girlfriend, Jordan O’Coy.

When her fans found out about her sexual identity, they rushed to social media to share their thoughts, but there hasn’t been any harsh criticism.

 After the couple’s pride parade pictures went viral, they also released a storey on her Instagram in which Kellyman and her lover Jordan O’Coy humorously teased followers and the gay community.
