TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Dance Society (IDS) will hold the International Ballet Star Gala (IBSG) on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 7:30 pm local time in Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Jakarta.
The IBSG is an annual event held in various countries since 2007. Indonesia receives the honor to host the show that will feature world’s top 10 principal dancers. A principal dancer is a dancer at the highest rank in a professional dance group.
Julian Tanjo, founder & managing director of Indonesia Dance Society, said that the spectacular event is initiated and will be held by an independent organization IDS in a bid to support the arts, particularly ballet dance. The show will last 2 hours featuring international ballerinas from the United States, Canada, Russia, Denmark and South Korea, among others.
Visitors will not only be able to see international ballerinas but also have the chance to join Meet & Greet event and participate in the so-called Masterclass with famous ballerina Lorena Feijoo.
“The international event will be an extraordinary spectacle that should not be missed by ballet lovers because it will feature 10 principal dancers and contemporary work and classical ballet, such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Carmen and Gisella,” Juliana Tanjo said.
