Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Isabella.  I am 16 years old and I attend East Meadow High School in East Meadow NY.  I started playing softball when I was 5 and have loved it ever since.  Softball have given me so many opportunities, life skills and friends, it's hard to imagine my life without it.  One of my dreams is to play college softball and I work hard every day at it, during practice and after. My parents and sisters play a big part in my life and are always there to support me. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with them and teaching my sisters the game.  I also enjoy playing field hockey, listening to music and hanging with my friends.

I played JV softball freshman year starting at 2nd base and batting at the top of the lineup. We had an undefeated season and I achieved over a .600 batting average.  I have started on Varsity for both Sophomore and Junior year at 2nd base.  We have finished in 1st place and Won County and Regional Championships for New York State, reaching the state semifinals each year. 

I strive to be the best at everything I do, on and off the field.  I have between a 3.8-4.0 GPA and take all Honors/AP level classes.  I have been on the Honor Roll every quarter since 7th Grade and was a member of the National Honor Society.  I play the flute and am part of the school Marching Band and a member of the Key Club.  Outside of school I am also a Girl Scout working towards my Gold Award. I plan on attending a University with a strong academic reputation and majoring in Marketing/Business. I hope that my skills and qualities on and off the field will make me a valuable asset to my future college team.
