James E. Wiggins – Metropolitan Funeral

On March 5, 2023, God sent his angels to bring our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, James Wiggins to his heavenly home. James E. Wiggins was born on June 29, 1934 in North Carolina to the late Lee and Viola Wiggins.

James received his education at I.C. Norcom High School.  Following high school, he served six years in the United States Army where he completed service with honors.  James accomplished 36 years as a successful, hard-working and dedicated welder with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

James was a supportive and caring person who was greatly loved by so many.   Most of all, he was a family man with a huge heart and unconditional love for his wife, children, relatives and friends.  He loved to watch football, attend the Kentucky Derby and cook.  His specialty was ‘BBQ Spare Ribs’. James will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

He leaves many precious memories to be cherished by his loving wife, Joyce L. Wiggins, his daughters, Joann Hill (Dexter), Etta Raines (Troy), Gloria Gather, Arlene Kellam, Lisa James (Robert), Angelique Elsharrawy (Ahmed), Annette Keene (Damien), sons, Vancelle Byrd and Edmondson McClain, sisters, Leola Veale, Dorothy Dickens, Margie Thompson, Shirlene Banks (Wayne) and Diann Pittman, brother, Reginald Wiggins (Leslie), 29 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of loving relatives.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Kevin Wiggins, Sr., Charles S. Kellam, daughter, Paulette Jackson, and brothers, Lester Wiggins, Lanxeene Wiggins and Raymond E. Wiggins, Sr.
