Personal Statement
My name is James Reiss, and I am in the class of 2025 at Newman in New Orleans, LA. I have played football since I was 5 years old, and aspire to continue playing after my high school career. I want to go to the team that gives me the best opportunity to succeed, and the university that is best for myself athletically and academically. I would be a good candidate for your team as my passion and gritty work ethic is undeniable. I love the team aspect of football, as going through hell and all of the hardships with and beside your teammates creates a bond that one can't comprehend. My best trait in the sport is my nose for the football, as I have a high football IQ and put myself in positions for the team and I to succeed. My main position is Nickelback, which I played mostly at the beginning of my sophomore year, however that position ended up shaping into an OLB/S hybrid; There were a few games where I was a pure safety or outside linebacker as well. I was needed more around the box this year, which is why there aren't many coverage clips in my tape this year. I gained a lot of experience early on in my career which helped me adapt to and learn from adversity early on, which is shown on my tape as my improvement from the beginning of the season to the end was great.
