Jefcoate previously worked for media houses including MTV Networks and The Atlantic. However, she has now shifted her career to healthcare and was the leader of the COVID-19 Testing Site under the DC Department of Health between November 2020 and June 2021.

O'Donnell's healthcare career started in June 2020 as a COVID-19 Responder with the District of Columbia Medical Reserve Corps. After serving for three months, she was a COVID-19 Program Associate for Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) in August 2020.

She attended the University of Oxford for a Master of Science in African Studies and Harvard University for her degree in Government and Global Health, according to her Linkedin profile.

Jane Coaston married Jefcoate O'Donnell on May 2, 2015. 

Sharing the news of the nuptials, Jane took to her Twitter account and posted two images for her followers to see, first showed the newlyweds and another show their wedding cake. Along with the image was her caption that revealed Jane's belief of marriage is great and everyone must do it.
