John Wilson, Jr. was born on February 25, 1961 to the late John Wilson, Sr. and Emma Mitchell Wilson in Chesapeake, Virginia. John graduated from Great Bridge High School and worked at BAE Systems (formerly Norshipco) for 38 years. After five years of dating, John & Gay married and remained married for 12 years. He was
loving husband, stepfather, brother and he was family to all.
John loved the Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins), and his cars. He enjoyed wrestling, racing, oldies but goodies music, dancing, laughing, old Cowboy Shows. John loved to dress, eat and being outside. To him no one was a stranger, everyone was called FAMILY. If he didn’t know your name you would be called Family. His favorite quotes were “Eat, sleep and pay bills” and “Same thing.”
He departed this life to live eternal on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in his home surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Gay Lewis -Wilson; stepson Kevin Lewis; stepdaughter, Jael Lewis; two grandchildren Tamia Banks and Kason Lewis; five sisters in Chesapeake, VA, Gloria Dawson, Annette Wilson (Albert), Carolyn Vincent, Teresa Wilson (Michael), Cheryl Wilson (Lloyd); Mother-in-law, Marie Lewis; Sister-in law, Jacqueline Sykes; Brother-in-law Ray Lewis (Gail); Sisters-in-law, Faunett Evans-Reid, of Maryland , Donita Reid-Jackson (Toronto) of Maryland, Ebony Reid-Amos of Norfolk, VA. He also leaves to mourn five nephews and four nieces, seven uncles, eight aunts, and host of relatives and friends.
