On Thursday, July 26, 2018, we lost Johnathan J. Pope, a kind and wonderful gentleman, who was loved by all who knew him. Jonathan was simply an amazing young adult who enjoyed meeting people. As a volunteer at the Endependence Center, he had a great desire to serve his community. He was a Board Member, he spoke to the Virginia Beach City Council, and he attended several meetings with our Legislative law makers in Richmond on behalf of the ADA. Jonathan had a zest for life and enjoyed attending sporting events. He was his brother’s biggest supporter attending his all high school and AAU basketball games.
Jonathan is a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a Graduate of Bayside High School. He is survived by parents; father, Terry and mother, Denise; brothers, Jamal and Jarrell; grandmother, Inez Pope and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and a nephew.
