In the new four-part Robbie Williams Netflix docuseries, fans are introduced to Robbie’s friend, Jonny Wilkes. “Giggling” aboard his private jet, Robbie welcomes Jonny on board. Viewers are given a glimpse into what life was like on the Feel singer’s tour during the height of his success in the early 2000s.

Parts one and two, Let’s Get Wrecked and Nobody Someday, feature some familiar faces including All Saints’ Melanie Blatt and Spice Girls’ Gerie Halliwell. But, there are also some lesser-known people in the docu-series who were a part of Robbie’s support system in his heyday.

Robbie Williams Part Three: Close Encounters introduces viewers to Robbie’s friend, Jonny.

In throwback footage from 2006, the Angels singer says of his pal: “Jonny is my best friend. He’s a moving, walking, talking part of Stoke-on-Trent that came with me everywhere.”

Robbie adds that Jonny made him “laugh and feel safe.”

During his touring days, which the singer says lacked “normality,” Jonny and the rest of his team, including manager David Enthoven and personal assistant (and later manager) Jules Cliff, were his “support system.”

Speaking of Robbie on the Netflix show, Jonny said it was “quite mad” seeing crowds “adore” his best friend. He added: “But, it’s his job and he’s the best at it.”

Where is Jonny now?

After forming a friendship as children, Jonny and Robbie are still friends today.

Fans see the two spending time together as Robbie tours across the world in the Netflix documentary. However, it doesn’t seem that Jonny features on the singer’s Instagram page or has an account himself.

He’s on X (Twitter) at @Jonny_Wilkes with around 100k followers. Robbie’s best friend writes in his bio that he’s a “Singer, Presenter, Actor, Producer. Co-founder of @Socceraid. Owner and Principal of @WilkesAcademy, a husband and a father.”

Jonny is currently appearing in a pantomime production of Jack and The Beanstalk as Jack Trot. He’s been performing on stage in Stoke-on-Trent for the past 19 years.

He also runs a performing arts academy and co-founded Soccer Aid with Robbie in 2006.

Robbie took to the ‘gram this year to share a snap for Soccer Aid back in June.
