Juventus confirmed the loan signing of Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado on Tuesday, temporarily ending a difficult seven-month spell at Stamford Bridge for the former Fiorentina player.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia and other Italian sources on Aug. 23 (h/t Football Italia), the Bianconeri will pay Chelsea roughly £1 million for Cuadrado's services. The move gives the former Viola star an opportunity to get some more playing time ahead of a likely transfer next summer.

The arrival of Pedro pushed the 27-year-old further down the pecking order in west London, and his chances of breaking into the starting XI looked slim to begin with given his struggles since joining the club during the winter transfer window.

Juventus have plenty of talent in the central areas but are lacking a game-changing winger, and if Cuadrado can return to the form he displayed at Fiorentina and during the 2014 World Cup, that's exactly the kind of player he can be.

Chelsea have no use for Cuadrado at this point, and a loan to a big club like Juventus can only benefit them.

It gives the Colombian the opportunity to boost his value, provided he does well for the Old Lady, which in turn could lead to an increased fee should he be sold next season.
