Julia Fox's book, Down the Drain, may not be out until next week, but in a new interview published in the Los Angeles Times, the actress and provocateur offered up a peek into what readers and fans can expect within those sure-to-be juicy pages. Fox spoke to the Times about her time with rapper Kanye West, which thrust her into the spotlight and zeitgeist in a way she never could have expected. However, she explains, she came to see that she was being used as a weapon and Kanye was obviously getting back at his ex, Kim Kardashian, by flaunting his relationship with Fox.

"I really understood him on a visceral level," Fox said before noting that she initially believed that she'd "be helping a precarious situation." Even though she hoped that she was right, she quickly realized that she wasn't.

"But I learned very quickly that I was being weaponized,” she continued. “I just felt like his little puppet.”

She added another detail about her time with West that some Deuxmoi fans may find surprising: there wasn't an NDA involved. Fox made sure of it.

"I’m not signing a fucking NDA just on principle. I never have, and I never will," she said of what tidbits about the relationship would appear in her book. "Unless it’s a professional opportunity, then sure.” She noted that she understands the relationship propelled her career in a way she didn't expect, saying that she "know(s) for a fact I’ve been up for certain things and couldn’t do it because of dating Kanye. It's kind of wild."

"It really wasn’t that big of a deal, but other people made it such a big deal," she finished.

In a chat with Rolling Stone in September, Fox also mentioned West's "weaponizing" of their short-lived romance, saying that it's "why the relationship only lasted a month."

“When I realized what was happening, I was like, 'I don’t want to be part of this,'" she said. "If I was still that version of myself, I would have probably just been like, ‘It’s a good opportunity, just do it. Now that I’m a mom, I have a higher moral standard for myself."
