ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tucker agreed to a four-year, $16.8 million contract with the Ravens that includes $10.8 million in guarantees.
Tucker Comments on Negotiations
Monday, June 13
“As of right now, there hasn’t been a whole lot happening, but there’s still time,” Tucker said Sunday at safety Lardarius Webb’s charity softball game, per Jake Lourim of the Baltimore Sun. “Like I’ve said before, I’m optimistic that something will get done. It’s a matter of when, not if.”
Tucker continued:
But I know there’s a lot of things to juggle from their perspective, so all I can do is just be patient and let the process unfold how it’s going to unfold. There’s no sense in complaining about it. I’m definitely in a very fortunate position, and I just hope that I can take this one year and turn it into four or five, or perhaps even more.
Tucker Looking for Bounce-Back 2016 Campaign
The Ravens hit Tucker with the franchise tag in February. The deal guarantees him $4.5 million for 2016, but the tag has always been seen as a necessary evil before a long-term contract.

The 26-year-old has spent his first four seasons with the Ravens after going undrafted in 2012. He was a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro in 2013 but has seen his numbers regress a bit over the last two seasons. After hitting 90 percent or better on field goals in his first two NFL campaigns, Tucker dropped to 85.3 percent in 2014 and 82.5 percent in 2015.
The good news: All but one of Tucker's 12 misses over the last two seasons has come from 50 yards or greater. On all other kicks, Tucker is 54-of-55. The Texas product was 10-of-11 from 50-plus yards in his first two years, so perhaps this is a regression to the mean. Or maybe he will return to form on long-distance kicks next season and become a Pro Bowler again.
Tucker's leg talent is obvious; no other team attempted more 50-yard field goals last season. But his accuracy on those kicks will be paramount to the Ravens' success in 2016.
