Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Kadence Saladin, I am a current Junior at Oshkosh West High School in Oshkosh, WI. I’m in the graduating class of 2023. I am a two-sport athlete and play high school volleyball and softball. My GPA is 3.79, and I was in one honors class, English 2 honors. In the summer and fall I play on the Fire Pro Fastpitch traveling team, we typically travel to Minnesota and Illinois, otherwise, we tend to stay and play in Wisconsin. I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old, and have always aspired to play college softball one day. I am looking for the opportunity to take the game of softball to the next level, and for me, that means playing college ball. I am a 5”5 3rd baseman/shortstop/first baseman/outfielder/utility player, and I enjoy playing everywhere on the field and I am up for anything. My overhand throwing velocity is 61mph, and my bat speed/exit velocity is 76mph. I am looking for a college that balances their athletics and schooling. Grades and my future career are very important to me. I am still undecided on what I want to major in, even what I want to do, but I’m leaning towards something in the medical field, or the education field, as I enjoy helping others out.
