Personal Statement
Prior to joining my first volleyball team when I was thirteen, I gained a growing interest by watching it on tv and playing around in school. When I played in my first school game, a magnificent passion was born. From that passion, I have grown into a strong volleyball player and teammate. I have learned what it means to be on a team and play my heart out on the court. After just one year of playing, I tried out for the top-tier national team at my volleyball club, and made it. I am now aiming to be the captain, help my team grow and have set my sights on starting as a middle on the team.
I am incredibly communicative, and coachable, and I am very flexible in my skills. Whether it is passing or blocking, I seek to excel, maintain growth, and learn how to better myself in that area. In practice, I focus on consistency in all skills both physical and mental. I strive to be a valuable player on the court. Outside of practice, I find an area in which I may be having issues and dedicate time to work on it. I am constantly looking to improve myself to become the best teammate and player I can be.
In school, I have always been a hard worker. Maintaining a high GPA throughout junior high and high school, while regularly on the High Honor Roll and in all Honors classes. I’ve participated in clubs outside of class. Academically, I strive for success in any assignment I am given, and to keep doing better everyday. I am a good friend, a hard worker, and a devoted athlete, and I feel I would be a great addition to a well rounded team.
