The beautiful Kara Killmer was born on 14th June 1998 in Crowley, Texas, America. She first started her career by starring in 2010’s original Hulu series If I Can Dream. The series continued but to a short extent and was a web series based on real events.

The beautiful young model is best known for her starring role in the drama series franchise airing at NBC titled One Chicago. She has starred in all of the underlying series: Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P. D.

She stars as Sylvie Brett, a hard-working paramedic in the franchise since the year 2014. 

Her Education

Kara Killmer studied performing arts and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2010 from Baylor University in Wacom, Texas.

After graduation, Kara would transition from her educational stage to career terrain by moving to Los Angeles from West Texas. It was there she would be inducted in the entertainment and film industry by being selected on If I Can Dream.

If I Can Dream

The reality web series by Hulu featured a number of aspiring actors who were looking to bust their way into Hollywood and bright careers. Kara Killmer along with the others had to move into the show’s house which was titled “Dream House”. 

The house was located in Los Angeles, and all of the contenders in the show had to live with sixty household cameras recording their every move, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This invasion of privacy was the core aspect of the show.

Even the car, Ford Fiesta, was outfitted with cameras as well. 

“…this is the worst place to play hide and seek,” said Kara Killmer when asked about the invasion of privacy and lack of personal space provided in the Dream House. 

The show entailed its features posed significant challenges, and Kara told Entertainment Weekly that pushing away from her co-participants was a very tough challenge. 

Transition to Other Roles

Moving on from the web series in which Kara was for one season, Kara moved on from the reality show to other shows. Her TV roles included her being Rapunzel, with her central hair in the Scary Tales series. This series showed the other side to light-toned fairy tales. 

This role was landed in the year 2011. The following several years also proved to be of lighter roles for the actor. She landed a role in Jane by Design and Rosa the Imposer and further acted in Remnant and Prank.

In the television feature, Horizon made for USA Network, Kara Killmer found her first role in a feature. The production was a mixture of sci-fi and war stories where Kara was cast alongside Ruth Bradley and Cary Elwes. 

Marriage Found in Between Career Life

The high of Kara Killmer’s personal life coincided with her professional life. Her first big break in a feature film as a central star came in the year 2015. Beyond the Mask was the title of the film, and Kara’s other lead was Andrew Cheney. 

The young actor and the lead of the film would go on in the future to start a relationship with Kara Killmer which would result in their marriage. They both are happily married to date.

While appreciating her character in the movie, Kara gave an interview to Guideposts.org in which she commented on her character’s beliefs. 

“The [Bible] verse that comes to mind for Charlotte is ‘Gentle as a dove, shrewd as a serpent.’ That was one of the things I really appreciated about her. I think she is very strong in her faith and she’s very rooted in her moral compass,” she spoke to the website.

Kara continues to maintain privacy even in her social media account. Her account is open but features only information regarding soon-to-release episodes. She is one of those actors who value privacy and maintain distance from their personal and professional lives. 

Her Breakout Role in One Chicago

As stated above, 2014 and 2015 turned out to be pretty favorable for the beautiful and talented actress. Not only did he find her life partner, but she also found the breakout role which would earn her the reputation she has today.

She joined Firehouse 51 crew in 2014. This was a big turnout for her as fans and followers of the series love and simply adore her. 

She plays Sylvie Brett on the show Chicago Fire. A dedicated, loyal and resourceful paramedic, she rescues Chi-town’s locals via her Ambulance 61. Her tenure continues for 160 episodes till date, and has also acted on other shows of the franchise One Chicago, Chicago P. D and Chicago Med. 

The ‘chi-verse’ allowed the actor to give considerable screentime to her fans along with the Chicago-verse spanning shared casts and storylines. The interesting and popular bit is the shared crossover character and narrator arcs along with their matching interactions.

Kara Killmer has appeared for 17 episodes on Chicago Med where she visits the Emergency Department. She then appeared for 10 episodes of Chicago P. D. and has interacted with police personnel and beat them at their game. She also turned up for an episode of Chicago Justice.
