Kenneth Gable Brown departed this life in exchange for eternal reward, in the late evening of December 30, 2022.
Kenneth was born April 4, 1952 in Chesapeake, Virginia to George and Elsie Nae Brown. He attended Chesapeake Public Schools and graduated from Western Branch High School. After graduation he joined the United States Marines and served for 27 years. His service did not stop there, he then began serving his community. He served as the community taxi service, wake up service, mechanic, chef, neighborhood watch and so much more. Most of all he always had a word of advice whether you wanted to hear it or not.
On August 1, 1975, Gable was joined in holy matrimony. They built a beautiful life together, and from this union they had four beautiful children. Gable did not play about his “Jo”. He made sure that she was always taken care of and never had to want for anything. Saturday mornings were set aside for taking her from yard sale to yard sale, store to store. He intentionally poured his love and affection for his wife, children and grandchildren.
Gable joined Trinity Faith Diamond under the leadership of Bishop Cromwell II and served there until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; George and Elsie Nae Brown, sister; Helena (Henry) Brown, brother, George Earl (Helen) Brown Jr, and sisters-in-law Linda Adams, Francis Mosley, Mary Williams and Bernice (Richard) Dancy.
His memories will forever live on with his wife Joanne Brown; children, Brian (Rasheeda), Leticha Brown Creekmur (Anthony), Jeanette, Kenneth Brown Jr (Natasha); and honorary daughter, Melissa Brown; grandchildren, Alexius Speller, Branden Delbridge, Maurice Brown, Demorris Huggins, Daniya Huggins, Nevaeh Harper, Dantae Brown, Brianna Delbridge, Josiah Howard, Miracle Mizell; five great grandchildren; sisters, Georgia “Pinky” (Peter Bird), Denise (Steve), Theresa (John); sisters- in-law, Carol Delbridge, Betty (Frank) Mitchell, Celestine Roberts, Joyce Jonson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
