Kurt Cobain crime scene photos were released by the FBI recently. Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain died more than 28 years ago.
He was found dead in the greenhouse on April 5, 1994, and the police called his death to be suicidal.
After the 10-page file released by the FBI about Kurt Cobain crime scene photos, they said, “We are unable to identify any violation of federal law within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBI.”
They added, “Most homicide/death investigations generally fall within the jurisdiction of state and local authorities.”
Two pictures were released by Seattle police that belong to the investigation of Kurt Cobain’s suicidal death. As per the reports released by the homicide detectives, they could not conclude anything new in the case.
The images released are quite blunt, but that’s how police shot the pictures. They are not interested in filters or lighting, and they just want to keep the images in the case’s records.
The items found near Kurts’ body do not have much information for the detectives to conclude. The pictures were captured inside the greenhouse where Kurt’s dead body was found.
All the pictures released by the police and the FBI have one thing in common. Kurt Cobain’s head was not shown in the photos because that’s where the shotgun blast hit.
The picture showed his right arm, and the coroner later concluded that it had puncture wounds from needles. Some images also feature his faded blue jeans and his right foot.
Let’s dive into knowing what is inside the pictures.
- According to a picture, it can be seen that an American Spirit menthol box is lying on the floor. This concludes that this was his last smoke, and the way they were spread led to the theory that they fell at the time he committed suicide.
- A floppy hunting hat was captured in the photo. This meant that he still wore those floppy hats, and he also wore white sunglasses. Blue jeans and a leopard-printed jacket were featured.
- In another picture, he and a pink lighter was seen, which he would usually use. He didn’t have any awkwardness using the pick lighter while smoking.
- Before committing suicide, he wanted everyone to know that it was Kurt, so he left his wallet near his death. During the investigation, police saw the wallet to confirm his identity because he wasn’t recognizable after the shotgun blast on his head.
- He was not interested in wearing cool glasses, but he was widely recognized for wearing blue-eyed white sunglasses. At the time of his death, he wore his regular old shades.
- Besides being a multi-millionaire, Kurt didn’t take good care of his hygiene. In his Tom Moore cigar box, he kept a rig, blacked-up spoon, fresh syringes, Q-tips, another lighter, cotton balls black with a spent smack, and rolling papers.
Cigarettes and heroin were found near his dead body, which led the investigators to conclude that these were his last pleasures. He loved playing Guitar, but that was not found near him.
