Personal Statement

My name is Logan Graham. I am a 5’10”, 155 pound baseball player. Baseball has always been an important part of my life. I started playing baseball when I was 3 years old and have never stopped. Not only do I have a love for playing baseball, but I have a passion for all things baseball—going to games, visiting opposing stadiums, going to baseball museums, reading up on stats, and I have even started up a nice memorabilia collection.

I have taken private pitching lessons from Eric Raich at the Brunswick BAT Cage since I was 10 years old. While there training, I was approached by the owner and offered a spot on their club team. I play for them during the summer and I also play for my high school team. I have learned throughout the years how to handle stressful situations and how not to let my emotions take over. I have been told by high school JV coach that I am “a huge asset to our team and major contributor to our success”, “incredibly coachable with a willing to learn and always better yourself while having incredibly strong mental composure while in tense situations”, and coaches had “full confidence” in me whenever I would play.

This past year, I encountered some serious health issues which had me sidelined from baseball for 5 months. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to play ever again. With the help of medical professionals, God, and my family I regained my health and I have been working hard to get back to the sport I love. I continue to work hard and train in some way every day.

I am interested in studying accounting or sports statistics in college. Math has always come easily to me. I hope to one day combine what I love with what interests me to find a lifelong career.
