JR Ridinger dies suddenly at 63
JR Ridinger, the founder and CEO of Market America, died suddenly in August 2022 at the age of 63. His wife Loren announced on Facebook that he had suffered from a pulmonary embolism while aboard a yacht in Croatia.
Ridinger was a prominent entrepreneur and network marketing pioneer, building a multi-billion dollar empire through Market America and its subsidiary Shop.com. He was also known for his philanthropic efforts, including the creation of the Market America | SHOP.COM Miami Beach Bowl.

Utopia IV, a $50 million yacht owned by JR and Loren, was undergoing repairs after an accident in December 2021. The yacht apparently rear-ended an oil tanker, causing it to sink. It’s worth noting that this is not the yacht JR was on at the time of his death.
