Personal Statement

Hey my name is Mackenzie Tyson. I am currently a senior at Hunt High School in Wilson,NC.  Ever since I was four years old soccer has had my heart. Since my freshman year, I have started on varsity playing various positions. I got award in my freshman and sophomore year for my hard work and dedication, hoping for something my junior year but it was cut short due to covid. My junior year I was named captain which will lead into my season season as well.  I also play travel ball here in my hometown. This past year I was the captain of that team as well. Not only have I played on premier teams and guessed played on national league teams, I have played on lower level teams and had to prove to others we were ready to move up overcoming the odds. I am a very versatile player not minding where she is playing as long as she is helping her team. I normally play attacking mid or defensive mid, but am comfortable in all other positions. Previous coaches often say I have a good view of the game and a high soccer IQ. I strive to be the best I can at not only soccer, but everything I do. At school I work just as hard. I have a 4.29 gpa and am currently ranked 5 in my class. I also am the historian of the National Honor Society at my school, but participate and have other roles in other clubs as well. Every since I was little I have wanted to play collegiate soccer, and that is now my goal to try and achieve.
