Nothing seems to faze Brooks Koepka at the start of major championship golf tournaments.
Koepka blazed out to a tie for the lead in 2023 with a seven-under 65 that was matched by Jon Rahm and Viktor Hovland.
That first-round performance was the first sign that we knew that Koepka's major-winning form was back on the course. He dealt with injuries for two years that kept him out of contention.
Koepka went on to tie for second after a rough Sunday last year. He won the PGA Championship a month later.
Koepka finished inside the top 10 at the last three Masters in which he was healthy. He was tied for the first-round lead in 2019 with Bryson DeChambeau and he shot no worse than 70 in each round in 2020.
An in-form Koepka should be near the top of the leaderboard right away to get us excited for what should be a star-studded finish on Sunday with Koepka, Scheffler, Jon Rahm and other stars involved in the fight for the green jacket.
