Michael Bennett, Jr. – Metropolitan Funeral

On December 22, 2020, Michael Bennett, Jr suddenly passed away. He was born on the 22^nd day of November, in the year of 1977 in Newark, New Jersey, where he spent half of his life before moving with his family to reside in Virginia in 1990.

Michael attended Peshine Avenue School in Newark, New Jersey. After moving to Virginia, he attended Bayside Middle School, Bayside High School and to the Marine Institute in Norfolk, VA, where he received his diploma. Mike worked at Autumn Care of Chesapeake, ODU in Norfolk and Home Depot. Mike was passion was his video games; he also loved to walk, cook, eat and speak his mind. Michael loved his rap music and loved to sing along with it.

Michael was predeceased by his sons Michael Shaw Bennett and King Shaw Bennett; maternal grandparents, Nellie Phillip and Robert Wilson, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Willa B. Jones and Harry Ace Bennett; great aunts, Audrey Mills and  Louise Wilson and great  uncle, Steve Mills.

Michael leaves to mourn, his Wife, Monique Shaw Bennett of Virginia Beach, VA; his Mother, Patricia of Norfolk, VA; his Father, Michael Bennett, Sr. of New Jersey ,Denine B. Boyce of New Jersey, Kimberland Sears of Norfolk, VA;  his Children, Jada Hinton (Dawn), of Virginia Beach, VA, Makayla and Jayden Harrell (Shenna) of Norfolk, VA, Maniyah Bennett (Donnequa) of Norfolk, VA, Nicco Shaw Bennett and Skyy Whaff

(Kearria) of Norfolk, VA.  Michael also leaves to mourn, one Sister, Kenya Bennett (Suffolk, VA); three Brothers, Terrell Bennett of Virginia Beach, VA, Cory Bennett of Virginia Beach, VA and Jamarr Boyce Bennett of New Jersey; three Aunts, Wanda Phillips-Doby of Newark, NJ, Lydie Maybank of Chesapeake, VA and Michael Warren of Norfolk, VA; four Uncles, Devlon Phillips (Tanisha)of New Jersey, Kevin Mills of East Orange, New Jersey, Michael Mills of Newark, New Jersey and Robert Wilson, Jr of Suffolk, VA ; Nieces Nayasha House, Kyeisha Bennett, Ja’Nya Bennett; Nephews, Zachary Bennett, Jr and Kamari Cuffee. Michael also leaves to cherish his memories a special Nana, Kimberly Sears – THANK YOU! ; Special Friends, Javon Speller and Shaheem Stallworth along with a host of family and friends.
