After sitting out for the entire 2015 season, wide receiver Mike Williams is reportedly returning to the league to play for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Williams is signing a one-year deal, citing a source.
The 28-year-old wideout last played for the Buffalo Bills in 2014, catching eight passes for 142 yards and one touchdown in nine games.
He was a fourth-round pick out of Syracuse by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010 and seemed destined to be a top-flight receiver after racking up 964 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie.
Williams had another strong year in 2012, with 63 grabs for 996 yards and nine scores, but the Bucs traded him prior to the 2014 campaign.
While the Buffalo, New York, native is certainly talented, off-field issues have plagued him dating back to his collegiate playing days.
Williams managed to stay out of the news during his one-year hiatus from football, and he could turn out to be a great buy-low candidate for Chiefs, who have Jeremy Maclin anchoring the receiver corps.
