Personal Statement

My goal is to play soccer for a division I school with the highest academic standards.  I have been playing soccer for 10 years and have devoted a great deal of time and effort toward improving as a player, a teammate and a leader.  Outside of the club team, I have tried out for and made the Northern Virginia District ODP.  I then tried out for the State ODP team and made it the last two years.  This has given me significant training opportunities as well as the opportunity to compete for the Region I pool.  I hope to follow in the path of current U.S. Women's National team players who went through that same process.  My ultimate goal is to be a member of the U.S. Women's national team after I receive a degree from a quality university.

The things that set me apart are my determination, my drive to be the best goalkeeper and, even more importantly, a valuable team player and support to my teammates.  I recognize the importance of improving as an athlete and creating opportunities for myself, but I play a team sport and I realize how important each players contribution is.
