Personal Statement

I have lived and breathed baseball since I was five years old.  My parents have been huge Red Sox fans since before I was born.  So literally, I was raised watching baseball on tv and going to games.  When I first had the opportunity to play T-ball, I was pumped.  Only problem, I was heart broken when I found out I was on the White Sox.  My sox were supposed to be red.  But, I was okay, I was playing ball and from that point going forward, I have practiced and played baseball at every given opportunity.
I have had aspirations to play baseball at the collegiate level for as long as I can remember.  I have worked hard and elevated my game at every given opportunity.  I have played on a Majors select team since the age of 10.  At the end of the 2014 season, as a starting player for Team Rawlings-Moulton, we won both the USSSA Elite 32 in Orlando, FL and the USSSA Youth National Baseball Championship in Memphis, TN.  At the conclusion of the season,Rawlings was the number one 14U baseball team in the country.  Furthermore, I am the starting left fielder for my varsity high school team as a freshman.  In addition to playing the field, I have had the opportunity to pitch at the varsity level as well.  I have used my experiences in both select ball and now at the high school varsity level to help position myself to play at the next level.
In addition to hard work on the baseball field, I have maintained a straight A average in school.  Currently, I am enrolled in all honors classes at Midland Christian High School and continue to maintain a 5.0 GPA on a 4.0 system.  I would like to use my baseball career to help propel my academic career.  I plan on getting a Bachelor of Science degree in order to attend to medical school.  I would like to become an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine after my baseball career is over.
I will bring both athleticism and academics a baseball program.  I will work hard on and off the field and be the teammate that you can always count on both athletically and academically.  My success in school sets me apart from many other athletes.  I further separate myself from the field with my work ethic and integrity.  In addition, it doesn't hurt that I throw and hit from the left side.  Every program needs a hardworking, intelligent and athletic lefty in their lineup.
